Have Friends Moving Into A New House? The Best Gifts They Really Want

Blog

Are friends or family members you know moving into a new house and you want to give them a gift that is useful and that they will enjoy? Unless you know their decorating style and what they plan on putting in their house, it can be hard to get them a new item that they can use. Here are a few great options for the new homeowners that they will be able to use no matter what their tastes and interests.

Outdoor Games

People who move into a new house often focus on the interior details, but getting the family outdoor games can be a great way for them to enjoy the outdoor aspect of their new home. Badminton rec sets, outdoor Jenga and Yahtzee, land darts and other options will get the family laughing and spending time together on their property when the weather permits. Even a new outdoor fire pit or outdoor furniture is great.

Premade Meals

Preparing premade meals that they can throw in the oven or crock pot, or even on the grill will be ideal when they are trying to unpack and settle in. Consider the following options:

  • Mason jar desserts that are already mixed and just need liquids added before they're baked
  • Soups that can be cooked and reheated again for later
  • Casseroles in disposable pans

If you know they love a specific type of food, you can choose to create a specific ethnic cuisine. If they have an outdoor fire pit, a s'mores kit may work. If you aren't great at making meals, try gift cards for carryout instead.

Monogrammed Décor

You can get a monogrammed wreath for the door, welcome mat for the front porch, metal hanging piece for the walls, or even hand towels. Just picking a single color, white options, or something that can match all types of décor should match all of the areas outside and inside of their new home. The monogrammed items add a great personal touch to your gift.

When you get someone that is close to you a housewarming gift you want to get them something that they will love and can enjoy, not something that they will toss aside or toss out. Ask them what they still need for the house or how they plan on decorating the house so you can get some ideas for what they want, and what the style of the items should be like.

Outdoor Summer Parties

My husband and I enjoy all sorts of sports. We regularly watch our favorite football, baseball, and basketball teams on television. Whenever the weather gets warm outside, we also like to play a little baseball in our backyard. Because we are planning an extensive home renovation project, I plan to invite more people to our home in the future. I’m looking forward to hosting fun outdoor parties. At these parties, I hope to participate in a variety of sports with my friends and family members. One sport I definitely want to play is volleyball. However, we will need to purchase a volleyball net first. On this blog, you will discover the types of sports equipment you will need to host fun, competitive outdoor parties during the summer months.
